Happy Note 2: Whacking things

Alright, Mr. Robotic is definitely not a violent piece of machine, unlike "The Terminator" which derives joy from gunning things down. Neither, does Mr. Robotic advocates fists and kicks as a means to resolve any issue even though the temptation to give a slap to certain deserving people did played out in Mr. Robotic twisted little mechanical brain on several occasions.

"Whacking things" to Mr. Robotic does not include the harm of any living creatures. In fact, what Mr. Robotic likes to do here is playing a racket game like badminton, squash. Especially the latter sport.

It is funny though, when Mr. Robotic was first introduced to this sport several years ago, he didn't enjoy squash as much as he did today. It could be because the opponents that he had then were a bunch of competitive people who are so concerned on winning and getting the approval from Coach that the fun element of the sport is missing. Playing it at a recreational level without feeling any burden is really a much better way to enjoy this sport.

The objective of squash simply put is to return the ball back to the designated portions of the wall in a manner so as to prevent your opponent from returning the ball. The adrenaline rush from trying to react and outsmart your opponents moves is exhilarating. It is like a chess game, except at a fast pace with little time to ponder.

Mr. Robotic also likes releasing all the pent up frustration on the little black ball instead of fuming it inside his bots. Not only is it a good form of exercise for this depreciating machine, it aids mentally too for Mr. Robotic to deal with the stress and unhappiness in his life.

In our busy environment whereby we are constantly bombarded by information seeking our attention and thereby making one lose one's concentration. Squash like other sports is a much welcomed change. In that enclosed room, one trains to focus all the attention on a little black ball. By constantly improving one's focus, that skill would essentially allow one to deal with the challenges at work.

Whatever the case, "whacking things" or other sports is good addition to Mr. Robotic's otherwise unhealthy lifestyle of eating junk food and sitting in front of the computer whole day. Hopefully, one day, Mr. Robotic can take on new sports for instance... Tennis.

Happy Note 1: Julie and Julia

If you have chanced upon this blog and not knowing what exactly this blogger, Mr. Robotic, is up to, well hopefully this post can shed some light...

Mr. Robotic caught the movie "Julie and Julia" yesterday. It is surely an entertaining, touching and funny movie (What's not to love with the endearing Meryl Streep?). Mr. Robotic recommend the movie to anyone looking for a good laugh or wanting to feel good.

But beyond all that, the underlying message of the two female leads seeking their purpose in lives, peserving and overcoming the obstacles is what really inspires Mr. Robotic.

This is because Mr. Robotic is at a stage now in his mechanical life whereby he is wondering what is the purpose or objective in his life (if any at all) and kind of feeling disoriented for his circuits. Besides his day job which is rather robotic at times, he spent his time on Facebook, watching TV etc. Similar to the female leads, he needed something, a project that helps to keep him occupied and at the same time get some value out of it.

Somehow, Mr. Robotic is never contended to be a mere robot and like to be a dreamer and always like to express himself in writing even though his mechanical hands are never really good for writing. Nevertheless, Mr. Robotic decided to emulate Julia by starting this blog.

What topics will Mr. Robotic be writing you asked? Well... mostly on events or things in life that makes he happy or excited of course! Hopefully, he can look back at his blog one year later and be contended or reminded that he too have achieved numerous things.

Who knows, you may find some things in his blog that you may enjoy doing too but has failed to start doing...?

The humble beginnings of Mr. Robotic...

It is the year 2009. In a distant galaxy far far away...

There lies a planet called Earth. On this planet, is a machine called Mr. Robotic.

Mr. Robotic is a composite of metals devoid of emotions and individual thinking and is programmed specifically to carry out mundane tasks in a designated 2 by 2 metres cubicle. At the end of each month, Mr. Robotic is given an energy source called "battso" which keeps his circuits up and running.

For the past 28 years since he was manufactured, Mr. Robotic somehow felt that he is missing a screw, a circuit part or an application but he couldn't pin point what it is exactly. He ran many processes and applications but to no avail.

One day, while he was catching a movie called "Julie and Julia" with his human co-workers, something in the movie short-circuited Mr. Robotic's motherboard. It is apparent to Mr. Robotic that his purpose is to seek happiness and excitement so that he can be a real human begin rather than just a machine.

And there it started, the document of the Adventures of Mr. Robotic on planet Earth...
